Double-sided copper-foil adhesive tapes are conductive tapes consisting of a copper foil carrier (smooth or tin-plated) coated on both faces with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive. The adhesive is conductive due to the inclusion of conducting particles which produce an electrical connection between the surface to which the tape is bonded and the copper-foil carrier.
The typical application of the tape is to bond two surfaces together both physically and electrically: for example, bonding a conductive seal to a conductive surface to provide shielding from electromagnetic interference.
