Here are a few examples of performance or miniaturization requirements.<\/p>\n
Wind turbines are particularly stressed and must be able to operate reliably for many years. Transformer manufacturer Pauwels has teamed up with DuPont to develop more compact transformers (SLIM\u00ae transformers), with the aim of integrating them inside the tower of the wind turbine.<\/p>\n
Since reducing the size of the transformer would increase the temperature rise, the engineers had to replace the kraft paper insulation with a more efficient material. Following the expertise of ADDEV Materials, they chose Nomex\u00ae for the most thermally stressed areas.<\/p>\n
