Industrial varnish: protection, finish and technical performance

What is an industrial varnish?

→ Get technical support tailored to your needs

Le industrial varnish is a liquid coating applied in a thin layer to a surface to ensure its resistance. chemical, thermal or mechanical protectionor to improve its visual appearance. Formulated from technical resins (polyurethane, acrylic, epoxy, etc.), it can be adapted to the requirements of sectors such as electronics, aeronautics and metallurgy.

At ADDEV Materials, we offer a wide range of professional varnishes available in single-component, two-component, UV-curing or thermosetting versions.

Technical characteristics of industrial varnishes

→ Formulas tailored to your temperature, adhesion or chemical resistance requirements

  • Excellent adhesion on metals, plastics, composites, ceramics...
  • Resistance to chemical agents, solvents, humidity and abrasion
  • Gloss, satin or matt finish to suit your aesthetic needs
  • Operating temperature up to +250 °C for certain epoxy varnishes
  • Application by spray, dip, brush or industrial robotics
  • Formulations certified to REACH, ROHS and aerospace standards

Polyurethane varnish: resistance and flexibility

→ An ideal solution for mechanical protection and flexibility

Le polyurethane varnish offers excellent resistance to abrasion, impact and solvents. It is widely used in the automotive and rail industries, and on equipment exposed to mechanical stress.

  • Very good elasticity even at low temperatures
  • Rapid drying or catalysis depending on formulation
  • High durability, low yellowing

Acrylic varnish: transparency and versatility

→ For a meticulous finish and use on a wide range of materials

Le acrylic varnish suitable for applications that require good transparency, low level of odour and fast handling. It is often used in the electronics, wood and packaging sectors.

  • Good UV resistance, low yellowing
  • Suitable for automatic spraying
  • Short drying time, no heavy solvents

Epoxy varnish: extreme protection and high thermal resistance

→ For aggressive environments or those exposed to high temperatures

Le epoxy varnish is a two-component coating that offers exceptional grip and a superior chemical resistance. It is used in electronic boards, aeronautics and marine applications.

  • Operating temperature up to 250°C
  • Protection against moisture, acids and solvents
  • Suitable for confined environments or those exposed to severe stresses

Modified alkyd varnish: performance/price balance

→ The cost-effective solution for large industrial production runs

Le modified alkyd varnish offers a good compromise between cost, drying time and mechanical strength. It is used for finishing and signage applications.

  • Good covering power on large surfaces
  • Easy to use, even in non-automated environments
  • Compatible with metal, wood or plastic substrates

→ Get access to the best industrial coatings on the market

We select varnishes from manufacturers renowned for their performance and reliability:

  • Momentive epoxy varnish and high-temperature silicone
  • Panacol acrylic and UV varnishes for electronics and optics
  • 3M and Bostik polyurethane varnish for technical parts
  • Loctite-Henkel varnishes for coating, encapsulation and tropicalisation

FAQ - Industrial varnish

Varnish is transparent or semi-transparent, without pigments, and is used to protect or enhance a material without altering its colour.

The epoxy or acrylic varnishes are the most suitable: high dielectric strength, rapid drying and compatibility with printed circuits.

Modern formulations are UV-stabilised to minimise yellowing, even with prolonged outdoor exposure.

Yes, most ADDEV varnishes are compatible with manual or automated spray application.

Yes, our products comply with the latest European regulations, and technical data sheets are available on request.
