Insulating sleeving: protection for your harnesses and components

What is an insulating jacket?

A insulating sheath is a flexible or semi-rigid tube designed for electrical, thermal and mechanical protection cables, conductors, harnesses or electronic components.
It plays an essential role in the prevention of short circuitsthe securing electrical installations and the extending the life of equipment.

Insulating ducts are manufactured from technical materials such as PVC, silicone, fibreglass, polyolefin, PTFE or polyimideand can be used in harsh industrial environments: extreme temperature, humidity, salt spray, chemicals, vibrations...

Advantages of insulating sleeving

The use of a sheath insulating material provides triple electrical, thermal and mechanical protection while improving the clarity and safety of the installations:

  • Reinforced electrical insulation prevents current leakage and electric arcs
  • Protection against extreme temperatures up to +260°C depending on the material
  • Resistance to chemicals, oils, solvents, humidity and UV rays
  • Absorption of shock, vibration and abrasion
  • Reducing the risk of fire : self-extinguishing versions available (UL 1441, EN 45545)
  • Compliance with international standards UL, CSA, IEC, EN, RoHS, REACH...
  • Ease of integration flexible, lightweight, easy to cut, quick to install
  • Aesthetics and location available in a range of colours, diameters and finishes

The insulating sheath is a an essential passive safety feature in all industrial electrical installations.

FAQ - Insulating jacket

It is used to electrically insulate a conductor, à protect cables against mechanical or chemical damageand prevent short circuits. It is essential in all industrial installations.

The fibreglass, silicone or PTFE sheaths are the most resistant: up to +260 °C continuous. They are recommended for motors, transformers, areas close to heat or flames.

La sheath heat-shrinkable shrinks when heated to adapt to the shape of the cable and offer complete insulation. The braided sheath is extendable, ideal for irregular bundlesand offers a flexible mechanical protection.

Yes. Specific versions EN 45545 (rail) or FAR 25 (aeronautics) are available, with low toxicity, low smoke and controlled fire behaviour.

Yes. At ADDEV Materials, we offer pre-cut formats, length kits, printed or labelled sleevesfor simplified integration into production or maintenance.
