Two-component adhesive: The solution for your assemblies

What is a two-component adhesive?

La two-component adhesive is an industrial adhesive made up of two separate components: a resin and a hardener. During mixing, a chemical reaction occurs, generating a bond. extremely resistantadapted to structural bondingeven on difficult materials.

It is used in a variety of sectors, including the automotive, electronics, aerospace and construction industriesor industrial maintenance. The two-component adhesive offers excellent mechanical, chemical and thermal resistancewhere conventional adhesives reach their limits.

Advantages of two-component adhesive

There are many benefits to using this glue:

  • High adhesion metals, plastics, composites, glass, concrete...
  • Extreme mechanical resistance (tensile, shear, impact).
  • Tolerance of games Perfect fit: even if the surfaces don't fit perfectly.
  • Adjustable setting time as required (fast or slow).
  • Exceptional durabilityincluding in humid, chemical or thermal environments.
  • No solventslow VOC emissions in many versions.

Industry and mechanical assembly

  • Fixing metal or technical plastic parts.
  • Replacement of welds or rivets.
  • Bonding of structural parts in industrial equipment.

Automotive, aeronautical and naval sectors

  • Gluing panels, bonnets and composite elements.
  • Assembly subject to high dynamic stress.
  • Sealing and bonding resistant to vibration and thermal shock.

Electronics and energy

  • Component wrapping, encapsulation.
  • Bonding of heat sinks.
  • Electrical insulation with conductive or insulating versions.

Construction and building

  • Sealing of threaded rods or chemical dowels.
  • Gluing tiles, profiles and interior or exterior architectural elements.

Two-component epoxy adhesive: rigidity and structural performance

The two-component epoxy adhesives are the most common for rigid structural assemblies :

  • Very high mechanical strength

  • Excellent heat resistance (up to +180°C)

  • Very good adhesion to metals, composites, wood and ceramics

  • Low polymerisation shrinkage → dimensional stability

  • Use in theaeronautics, railways, electronics, electric mobility

Ideal for structural metal-to-metal bondingor metal/compositewhere rigidity and precision are key.

Two-component methacrylate adhesive: high adhesion on plastics and composites

The two-component methacrylate adhesives are formulated for assemblies where the speed and resistance on difficult substrates are essential:

  • Very good performance without primer on PE, PP, ABS, composites, PVC

  • Fast curing (a few minutes at room temperature)

  • High resistance to shock, vibration and fatigue

  • Tolerant of average surface conditions (slightly oily or damp)

  • Ideal for alternative mobility, plastics, construction, renewable energies

Recommended for bonding of composite hulls, casings, engineering plastics, covers, non-visible fasteners.

Two-component polyurethane adhesive: elasticity and resistance in harsh environments

The two-component PU adhesives offer a a more flexible, moisture-resistant bondparticularly suitable for substrates exposed to deformations, thermal cycles or vibrations :

  • Excellent flexibility (Shore A to D depending on formulation)

  • Resistant to moisture, water, oils and fuels

  • Good adhesion to porous or uneven substrates (concrete, wood, composites)

  • Used in theautomotive, construction, on-board electronics

Particularly useful for assemblies subjected to dynamic stress or outdoor bonding.

FAQ - Two-component adhesive

It's an adhesive made up of two parts to be mixed (resin and hardener). Once mixed, they react chemically to form a very strong structural bond, even on materials that are difficult to bond.

La two-component needs to be mixed in advance, but offers superior strength. La single component is ready-to-use, simpler to apply, but less effective for demanding assemblies.

You can stick metals, engineering plastics, composites, wood, concrete, glass, ceramicsand even combined surfaces. It's an ideal solution for multi-material bonding.

Yes. There are formulations to rapid setting (a few minutes) or slow grip (more than 60 minutes). The choice depends on the type of assembly, the desired working time and production constraints.

Yes. Depending on the wording, it can withstand temperatures of up to +250°C and many chemicals (oils, fuels, solvents, light acids, etc.).

Absolutely. Many solutions are compatible with automatic dosing/mixing systemsperfect for production lines or mass bonding.
