The RoboTape™ for 3M™ Tape allows manufacturers to take advantage of the benefits of 3M Tape in their assembly processes while maximizing production throughput, improving quality, reducing or re-tasking manual labor and limiting re-work. With labor shortages and increased costs affecting manufacturers, advanced technology becomes a necessary solution.
The RoboTape for 3M Tape system utilizes a variety of 3M VHB tape. This technology allows for bulk spools that can be replaced while the machine is in mid-production. The system includes the payout (or unwind stand), a feed system and a lightweight applicator head. This system allows for full integration as part of a new line, retrofitted to an existing line, or stand-alone to be integrated by another integrator. The flexible feed system can assist with tape designs requiring curved radiuses, square corners, 3D profiles, small strip placement and narrow tape applications.
