3M™ 8992 Polyester Tape

Product description

3M Polyester Tape 8992 is a dark green polyester tape with a silicone adhesive. It can be used in a wide variety of high temperature applications including masking powder coatings, spark arrestors and bag sealing. It can also be used to splice, connect or close rolls of silicone-treated liners or materials.

Product features

3M 8992 polyester tape offers excellent resistance to heat, abrasion and chemicals, while retaining its flexibility.
The green colour makes the tape easy to spot, both when applying and when removing.
The support leaves a clear line of paint.
Silicone-based adhesives offer high heat resistance compared to many rubber- and acrylic-based adhesives, reducing failure due to softening, bleeding and adhesive transfer.
Silicone adhesives bond well to hard-to-bond surfaces such as silicone coatings and fixings coated with release agents.
Silicone adhesive removes cleanly from many surfaces.
Coated version available for cut-outs.

Storage and shelf life

Store under normal conditions, between 16°C and 27°C (60°F and 80°F) and with a relative humidity of between 40 % and 60 %, in its original packaging.
For best performance, use this product within 24 months of its date of manufacture.
