Sleeve: protection and insulation solution for cables

What is a sleeve?

Le sleeve is a sheathing accessory used to isolate, protect or identify a cable or an electronic component in a way that localised.
Unlike conventional sleeving, which comes in a roll, the sleeve is Pre-cut or packaged to orderenabling rapid, targeted implementation during installation, maintenance or industrial assembly.

There are different types of sleeves depending on their technical function (insulation, mechanical, thermal and dielectric protection, marking, etc.) and their material (polyolefin, silicone, fibreglass, polyester, etc.).
The sleeve is a a strategic element in securing harnesses and connections in critical industrial environments.

Advantages of sleeves

It offers a host of technical and operational advantages in the management and protection of electrical and electronic installations:

  • Easy to install no cutting required, rapid localised application
  • Versatility insulation, thermal and mechanical protection, identification
  • Wide choice of materials Silicone, polyester, polyolefin, fibreglass, PVC...
  • Excellent thermal resistance from -55 °C to +260 °C depending on the material
  • Protection against abrasion, impact, liquids and UV rays
  • Compliance with international standards UL, CSA, EN45545, FAR 25, RoHS, REACH
  • Compact, lightweight solution : perfect for on-board environments
  • Available in retractable, braided or smooth versions

Thanks to its ready-to-use formatthe sleeve is the ideal solution for maintenance operationsthe small seriesor hard-to-reach areas.

Electronics and electrical engineering

  • Single- or double-walled versions (with internal adhesive for sealing)
  • Excellent electrical and mechanical insulation

Braided sleeve

  • Made from polyester, aramid or fibreglass yarns
  • Very good resistance to abrasion and chafing
  • Ideal for flexible or moving bundles
  • Stretch shape for easy donning

Silicone sleeve

  • Thermal resistance up to +250°C
  • Very high flexibility
  • Stable electrical insulation even in damp conditions
  • Used in the medical sector, electronics or high-temperature areas

Fibreglass sleeve

  • Withstands temperatures up to +650°C depending on the finish
