ADDEV Materials

Decarbonisation, taking action

At the end of 2021, ADDEV Materials joined the first promotion of the Bpifrance Decarbonation Accelerator. This support programme, which follows the ACT methodology, runs for 24 months and brings together 15 companies committed to the Ecological and Energy Transition (TEE). Three consultants from Bpifrance, ADEME and the environmental consultancy eCO2 are supporting the project team, which includes Pascal Nadobny, Chairman of ADDEV Materials, Marie Blanchard-Brunel, Marketing, Innovation & CSR Director and member of the Comex, Louise Nadobny, CSR Manager, and David Constance, DECOUPE Industrial Manager France, who is providing operational support on an industrial site and his experience in energy savings. The support covers three of the Group's French industrial sites: ADDEV MICEL in Saint-Chamond and Valence, ADDEV ADHIS in Wittelsheim and France DÉCOUPE in Pouilly-sous-Charlieu.

After taking stock of our business, TEE and decarbonisation within the company, we brought together the Executive Committee, the project team and the managers of the sites within the scope to discuss the climate strategy we wanted to put in place. Three workshops were organised to define a long-term vision, a medium-term roadmap and a short-term climate strategy. ADDEV Materials also defined reduction targets in line with the Science-Based Target (SBT) initiative of -42% on scope 1&2 and -25% on scope 3 by 2030.

At the end of 2022, ADDEV Materials then defined an associated action plan to achieve these reduction targets, which is broken down into 4 areas:

  • Decarbonising operational activity: Reducing the GHG emissions generated directly by our activities (Scope 1&2)
    • The carbon performance of equipment
    • Renewable energy supply
    • Life at work (travel, mobility)
  • Circularity of materials: Increase the proportion of our outgoing materials that are reused or recycled
    • Reducing waste
    • Recycling waste
  • The "low carbon" value added to our products: Eco-design of our products and services to minimise the impact of materials and transport on the product or service.
    • The carbon footprint of products and eco-design
    • Sourcing low-carbon materials
    • Emissions avoided by our customers
  • Managing the climate initiative: managing the climate initiative in project mode and putting in place the necessary measures and indicators
    • Managing the transition
    • Carbon measurement and information systems
    • Promoting the climate transition

Each area is represented by a member of the Executive Committee and each sub-area is supported by an operational manager. Each sub-axis is assessed against a KPI to track progress.
