ADDEV Materials has brought together its two Polish sites in a new factory in Zychlin, certified to BREEAM*, the most widely used international standard for the environmental assessment of buildings.
In January 2022, ADDEV Materials brought together its ADDEV Eurotech plant (located in Łomianki), which specialises in adhesive solutions, and MICEL Sp. z o.o (located in Zychlin), which specialises in converting flexible insulation solutions and technical films, on a new 4,600 m² site built in Zychlin. The aim is to bring together the Polish teams on the same site to improve cohesion and efficiency, and to provide customers in Central Europe with greater responsiveness and performance to support them in all their specific businesses, in the energy, automotive, rail, construction and industrial sectors.
The new building provides 70 employees with 20 % more space and a modern working environment. It has been designed to be highly innovative, flexible and scalable, with the acquisition of the neighbouring land leaving open the possibility of a future extension that would double the plant's surface area.
The new plant was awarded ISO 9001 and 14001 certification in March 2022. The building has also been awarded BREEAM* certification, which assesses the environmental performance of the premises and helps to reduce their running costs. A number of environmentally-friendly solutions have been installed, including a heat recovery heating system, sensors to automatically cut off water and electricity to the toilets when the room is empty, a main power switch to prevent appliances from remaining on standby when the factory is closed, and photovoltaic panels designed to produce around 30 % of the site's electricity consumption. Three electric cars have been ordered from a fleet of 13 vehicles.
The site has set itself two major environmental targets: a 10 % reduction in electricity consumption and a 10 % reduction in waste.
