POP users, especially in the event industry, sometimes need assembly solutions that are removable, discreet, and durable. The 3M™Scotchmate™ and 3M™Dual Lock™ hook-and-loop fastening systems are ideally suited to meet these needs.
Long employed by the textile industry, this fastening system popularized by the Velcro™ brand works by mechanically joining two surfaces.
The hook-and-loop fastening system consists of two fabric strips, usually 100% nylon, that hook together with a simple snap.
Use: for joining flexible, relatively light materials. Limited life span (loss of performance beyond 500 uses).
Also based on the principle of elastic deformation, this more advanced method of fastening is not made up of hook and loop, but of polymeric mushroom-shaped rods that interlock with each other.
Use: more resistant than the hook and loop system, this prodcuts can be assembled and disassembled several thousand times. Consisting of only one part, it also has the advantage of being usable on itself.
