PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) films

Product description

PET films are plastic films that can have different aspects: whitish, translucent, dark, milky and colored, the most common form being the transparent plastic film. These technical PET films are intended for all applications requiring dielectric properties. Among our range of PET films we find:

Mylar®: Electrical insulation, Release

Melinex®: Aesthetics, Finishes, Treated film

ELAN-film®: Electrical insulation

PET plastic films are used as general purpose films for electrical applications such as interlayer insulation of coils and transformers.

PET films can also be treated: metallized, siliconized, heat sealed, anti UV, corrugated, anti scratch, heat stabilized.

Technical properties

  • Very good dielectric strength (280 kV/mm for a 23µm film)
  • High mechanical strength (tensile, impact)
  • Oils, hydrocarbons resistant
  • Thermosettable
  • Low permeability
  • Used in continue 105°C (UL), 130°C(CEI)
  • Operating temperature: -70 to 150°C
  • Fire classification VTM-2
  • Good resistance to bending
